With the aim to attract the schoolchildren and improve the quality of education through animated multimedia based educational content, two-day programme for teachers training on Computer Aided Learning (CAL) organized by District Mission Authority (DMA), SSA Kohima got underway at DC conference hall kohima on Tuesday.
Deputy commissioner and chairman DMA, SSA kohima Rajesh Soundararajan in his address said the mindset of the students should inculcate the need of technology application in their studies to compete with others in the computer age. He said in whichever profession a person joined the need of computer knowledge was indispensable. He urged the teachers to make best use of the facilities provided to them.
District education officer-cum-district project co-ordinator DMA, SSA Kohima Piholi Swunetho said it was necessary to collaborate knowledge with technology as the world was getting more advanced in technology. She highlighted the advantages of computer aided learning as it facilitated transition from the teacher centred classroom to a more interactive and engaging learning as it ensured conceptual clarity and better application. It also creates self-learning provision for both teacher and students, to familiarise the students and teachers from rural communities with modern computer technology. She urged the trainees to train with seriousness and be a source of knowledge to the people around.
More than 60 SSA teachers of Kohima district attended the programme.
