Minister for Higher Education & Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, launched the Higher Education Attendance & Record Tracking (HEART) App and released the Quality Enhancement Report 2024–2025 during the Government College Principals’ Annual Conference organised by the Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland, on April 29 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima. The conference brought together principals from 17 government colleges across the state.
Speaking at the programme, Temjen Imna Along underscored the importance of reflection, collaboration and collective vision-building for the advancement of higher education in Nagaland.
Departmental Meritorious Awards were presented to four faculty members and three ministerial staff in recognition of their contributions to institutional performance. The awards aim to motivate colleges to adopt best practices in teaching, governance and employee support systems, while encouraging academic excellence and holistic development.
The conference was attended by secretary Higher & Technical Education, Sarita Yadav, additional secretaries V. Lovitoly Sema and Sentiyanger Pongen, principals of the 17 government colleges and officials of the department.
Sarita Yadav and V. Lovitoly Sema also addressed the gathering, while Er. Rishav Sethi presented an overview of the HEART App. Presentation of the meritorious awards was led by Dr. K. Nishena Nekha, additional director, Higher Education.
The conference concluded with a reaffirmation of the department’s commitment to fostering quality higher education and collaborative institutional growth in Nagaland through sustained innovation and accountability.
