Temjenmenba inaugurates interstate terminus in Kohima

Advisor, Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba Tuesday inaugurated the Interstate Truck Terminus at ISTT, Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, speaking at the occasion, Temjenmenba stated that the terminus was a much-needed facility, especially for the traffic congestion in the capital town and hoped that it would ease traffic problems to a great extent.
He also asserted the need to maintain the terminus properly and added that the department should be able to use the asset “intelligently” so that it would have the capability to generate revenue for the state. The advisor also encouraged the department to create more assets like this, so that the people grow from strength to strength.
Pointing out that many of the trucks carrying goods would come to and halt at the terminus, Temjenmenba called upon the model village to treat the people coming from far-flung areas well so that they have a comfortable stay without any hindrances from any quarters.
In his introductory speech, general manager, NST, Shikaho P. Yeptho said the project was supervised and executed under the Civil engineering wing of the department headed by the Executive Engineer (Const), who has been effectively and efficiently executing the project.
Once it started functioning, he said the ISTT was going to be beneficial in rendering all the needs of local and interstate truck operators including parking facilities and easing congestion in the town area.
