Tenyimi Youth Organisation condemns assault on Rengma brothers

Tenyimi Youth Organisation (TYO) has strongly condemned the heinous assault, looting and abduction of two Rengma brothers by unidentified gunmen in Manipur.
According to TYO president Khrozote Kapfo and general secretary Asungbe Hau, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 23 between Keithelmanbi and Kangpokpi district, while the victims were on their way to Imphal to earn their livelihood by selling yunchuk. The gunmen reportedly assaulted the brothers, looted their money and mobile phones, and abducted them to an undisclosed location.
Describing the act as “barbaric and cowardly,” TYO said targeting innocent civilians in such a ruthless manner was inhumane and posed a grave threat to peace, security and the rule of law.
TYO warned that such acts of lawlessness would not be tolerated under any circumstances. It demanded immediate and decisive action from the concerned authorities and apprehend the perpetrators without delay.
TYO cautioned that failure to act swiftly would compel it to take its own course of democratic measures. It further assured the victims and their families of its solidarity and commitment to pursue justice until the culprits are brought to book.
