Tetso College celebrated Scholastic Day 2015 on January 30 with Dr. Joshua Lorin, former Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, Lynn, Massachusetts, USA and faculty member from Oriental Theological Seminary, as special guest.
Scholastic day is an annual event where staff and students are accorded recognition and awards for the events of the previous year. The gathering was welcomed by the Principal Dr. PS Lorin, which was followed by a special song by Grace Himb of Class XI, and launching of the latest edition of the Tetso Interdisciplinary Journal 2015. Anjan Behera from the Department of English has highlighted some features of the new journal.
Kvulo, Director-Administration, elaborated on the meaning of “Tetso” which he stated was a pure Naga word taken from a Naga dialect meaning “Top.”
The guest speaker, Dr. Joshua, shared his personal account of the humble background he came from and arriving at his accomplishments today – which he cited were owing to two reasons – God and the determination to pursue his dream. He mentored the students on using both the ‘rational’ and the ‘emotional’ side of the human mind in order to progress and make important life decisions. He stated that it is not only the ends to which we must look towards, but the pursuit towards the end that makes all the difference in the kind of people we turn out to be.
