Tetso College hosts student webinar

Student webinar on the unique topic “Learning new language benefits: Naga experience” was organised by Tetso College, department of political science under the guidance of Dr. Rimmei Longmei and Dr. Sabur Ali M on December 8.

A press release by department of political science, Tetso College, HoD, Dr Rimmei Longmei, delivered an introductory note stressing on the relationship between language politics and new language learning in the context of nation building process.
Dr. Aniruddha Babar emphasised on the importance of classical languages by tracing the intersection of growth and evolution of languages with socio-political undercurrents prevailing in the society. 
He weighed on the need to preserve languages through narration of the “painful fate” of the classical spoken languages like Pali, Ardhmagadhi, Aramaic, vedic/classical Sanskrit and Latin. Webinar was moderated by assistant professor, Tetso College, Yaoreiphy Awungshi and had six multilingual student speakers.
