TGOF observes first annual session

First annual general session of the Tsungiki Gazetted Officers’ Forum (TGOF) was conducted at the conference hall of Hammock Resort, New Wokha village under Wokha district on Saturday. 
MLA N. Thomas Lotha who graced the event as chief guest, said Tsungiki village had been a prominent village among the Lothas, since the days of headhunting with many admirable stories and folklore of its brave warriors and their achievements doing the usual rounds.
Lotha recalled, how in the olden days, it was said that when brave warriors of Tsungiki sang, even the birds of the trees danced in rhythm to the tune of their voices.
The chief guest also said that since Tsungiki village had produced many pioneers in the field of Christianity and education, the TGOF should make it a priority to honour them so that many more future generations can be blessed.
Others who exhorted the first session of the first TGOF annual general session included retired executive engineer (PWD) Er. Likhomo Ovung, retired psychiatrist Dr. P. Ngully, and TGOF member Elansao Lotha. Tsungiki Village council chairman Tsenyimthung Kikon also delivered greetings on the occasion.
Tsungiki Baptist church pastor Rev. Rhyutsemo Ngullie offered prayer of blessings for new TGOF member inductees.
Earlier, TGOF president Nchumthung Ngullie delivered welcome address, Chukitong Baptist church assistant pastor Echongbemo Shitiri offered invocation, and TGOF vice president S. Mhonchan Kikon proposed the vote of thanks. The session was chaired by TGOF general secretary K. Aben Kikon.
Folk song and special number were presented by Ntsemo Ngullie and party and Y. Thungyani Kikon respectively
In the second session, TGOF general secretary K. Aben Kikon presented the general secretary report and TGOF joint secretary Chanbemo Kikon presented the finance report which was followed by the discussion hour. Meanwhile, TGOF has decided to provide monthly old age pension to the oldest male and female among Tsungiki villagers.
