
To exchange academic, vocational and professional information with a view to optimize available resources between the institutions and besides others, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between The Global Open University Nagaland (TGOUN) and Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA).
The MoU was signed by representative of TGOUN chancellor, TN Manen and ambassador Philippe Le Gall, High Commissioner of Seychelles, during TGOUN 11th annual foundation Day Wednesday, at the university campus.
MoU also includes promotion of tourism and hospitality in both the countries by visiting places of tourist importance, jointly organised seminars workshops and reorganise educational programmes conducted by the two institutions on a reciprocal basis.
Speaking in the programme as chief guest, Philippe Le Gall, expressed happiness to be part of the programme and revealed that it was the first of its kind of agreement signed between institutions of Seychelles and India, in his presence.
Informing about the MoU agreement, he informed that the technical of the institutions would be discussed in a later period of time when delegates from TGOUN would be received by STA.
He said both the institutes would converse on the best practices of tourism, teaching, and exchange of students, faculty and others. Gall while mentioning about Seychelles said that it is a small country with only about 450 Sq. Km of land area. However, he said the country thinks globally for which he encouraged TGOUN to continue its effort in the right direction.
Addressing the gathering, TGOUN chancellor TN Mannen, mentioned that the university has a united goal oriented faculty with best teaching qualities.
He also pointed that the university has still much more to learn and that the management needs to ensure that the University continues to provide quality of education.
Other highlights of the programme includes release of a book titled “Eastern Himalayan Domestic architecture with special reference to Northeast India” and screening of documentary of TGOUN. The programme was chaired by Tialila Longkumer, welcome note was delivered by TGOUN vice chancellor, Dr. HN Dutta and vote of thanks was delivered by TGOUN director/ registrar Dr. Imotemsu Ao.
