Tesophenyu Group Women Union (TGWU) organized a mass protest rally at Tesophenyu public ground on August 29 against the alleged molestation, attempted rape and murder upon two of its members by one “Phachulo Tep son of Chiinga Tep of Nsiinyu village”. In a press note, TGWU said that during the rally various organizations like Tesophenyu Group Youth Organization, Tesophenyu Group Students’ Union, Tesophenyu Group Women Union and Village Council vehemently condemned the heinous crime and immoral act of “Phachulo Tep who molested, tried to rape and murder helpless and poor innocent mothers at gun point while in their fields at around 3:30 p.m. on August 21, 2015.” The protestors further demanded that befitting punishment be awarded to the accused without delay, taking into account the representations of TGWU in letter and spirit.
