Thahekhu FC, Don Bosco Sports Academy register crucial wins

DIMAPUR, SEP 30 (NPN): Exciting contests marked Match Day 14 of the DDFL-cum-Late Hejeto Ayemi Trophy at DDSC Stadium on Wednesday, with Thahekhu FC and Don Bosco Sports Academy securing important victories in their respective league encounters.
In Match 27, Thahekhu FC edged past Indisen FC 2-1 in a closely fought encounter. Lanjon starred for Thahekhu FC with a brace, opening the scoring in the 11th minute before restoring his side’s lead early in the second half. Indisen FC had levelled the score through Theishingkhul Mungleng in the 31st minute. Despite being reduced to ten men after Tobo Chophy was shown a red card in the second half, Thahekhu FC held on to claim all three points. Hengoulen of Indisen FC was adjudged Player of the Match.
In Match 28, Don Bosco Sports Academy defeated Kachari Sports Club 2-1 in another competitive fixture. Don Bosco took an early lead through Aching in the fifth minute, only for Jasten Mech to equalise three minutes later. The decisive moment came in the 41st minute of the second half when substitute Latzangai found the net to hand Don Bosco the victory. The team overcame a setback after Nitova Chella received a red card late in the match. Benrithung Murry of Don Bosco Sports Academy earned the Player of the Match award.
Both winning sides demonstrated resilience under pressure, with Thahekhu FC defending their advantage with ten players and Don Bosco Sports Academy securing a late winner despite finishing the match a player short.
