
Two-day “The Global Leadership Summit” organized by Dimapur Christian Forum in collaboration with Willow Creek Church, Illinois commenced here Tuesday at IMC hall, Circular Road, Dimapur.
In the summit a video conferencing session with the objective of leadership skilled development programme was also organized for the gathering present.
In the video conference, Bill Hybels who is the founder and senior Pastor, Willow Creek community Church shared on the tropic “five intangible qualities of a leader” while nationally acclaimed business thinker and bestselling author “Good to Great”, Jim Collins spoke on “seven questions: beyond good to great”.
Other speakers include Sam Adeyemi who is the founder and senior Pastor Daystar Christian Xentre in Nigeria who shared some inspiring fresh insights from his current season of ministry and leadership while founder of Traid Consulting Group and faculty Harvard Law School Shiela Heen shared a framework to help the participants about the elicit value from feedback: whether well or poorly delivered. Alberr Tate who is the founder and senior Pastor, Fellowship Monrovia in S. California spoke on “leading with leftovers”.
More than 350 members from various colleges, Churches, leaders from different society and NGOs attended the summit.
Earlier, invocation was pronounced by Reverend Moses Murry, welcome address was delivered by Dr. N. Paphinho and worship band was led by Friends Missionary Band of Dimapur. Interested individual have been asked to enroll their names and be a part of the summit.
It may be noted that “The Global Leadership Summit” is a Christian service extended by Willow Creek Association USA which has trained/helped Christian grow in their leadership to maximize kingdom impact, create world class leadership, development to energize Christians and mobilize churches.
The summit has trained over two million Christian leaders in collaboration with 15000 Churches in 108 countries.
According to Dimapur Christian forum, in the past, members of Dimapur Ao, Sumi, Town Baptist Churches and Assemblies of God Churches have been immensely benefitted from the training programme. It said besides church leaders, professionals and theological students in and around Dimapur.
Meanwhile, with the desire to help leaders of various fields dwelling in Kohima town the world –class leadership event would be hosting by Union Baptist Church Kohima for the second time “The Global Leadership Summit” from October 16 and 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Union Baptist Church Kohima.
This was announced by Director Global leadership summit (GLS) Reverend Dr. Rachiilie Vihienuo during press conference at UBC conference hall, Tuesday.
Highlighting about the summit, Rev. Vihienuo informed that it is an initiative of Willow Creek Association founded in 1992 by pastor Bill Hybels, senior pastor of Willow Creek community church USA.
He said The Global Leadership Summit became a global movement impacting 2, 60,000 leaders, 105 countries around the world.
Rev. Vihienuo informed that all the speakers will address via video-cast on a “giant screen” and the participants would have an experience of attending the live service.
Rev. Vihienuo said the summit welcomes everyone including teachers, church leaders, NGOs, social entrepreneurs, volunteers, parents and other any interested persons to get inspiration, motivation, sharing experiences, to sharpening leadership quality and so on.
He further informed that, in the past, people who attended the summit have positive feedback in teamwork, effectiveness, significance and better leaders.
Director The Global Leadership Summit organizing committee informed the summit speakers are from different backgrounds where all are innovative leaders who are positively impacting the world in a big.
