Theja honoured with bespoke Hornbill brooch

Mia by Tanishq, in partnership with the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland, presented a bespoke golden brooch inspired by the iconic Hornbill to Theja Rio in a celebration of art, culture and partnership.
The specially designed brooch features an intricate Hornbill motif, paying tribute to Nagaland’s cultural identity and symbolising the state’s heritage and distinctive cultural character. The reverse of the brooch is inscribed with “ANGH”, adding a contemporary and personal element to the design.
The Hornbill holds a significant place in Nagaland’s cultural landscape and is closely associated with the state’s identity as the “Land of Festivals”. The bird also lends its name to the Hornbill Fes tival, which showcases the diverse traditions, music, arts and contemporary creative expressions of Nagaland.
The bespoke piece was presented by Regional Business Manager – Mia by Tanishq (East Region), Philip Andre Vianna, as a gesture of appreciation and recognition of the brand’s partnership with Nagaland.
According to TaFMA, the collaboration reflects a shared appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship and the growing visibility of Naga talent and culture.
The initiative also highlights Nagaland’s expanding creative ecosystem, with music, fashion, design, craft and contemporary art increasingly serving as avenues for cultural storytelling beyond the state.
The specially commissioned brooch combines traditional inspiration with contemporary jewellery design, drawing on the Hornbill while presenting it through a modern aesthetic. The piece thus reflects the evolving cultural narrative of Nagaland and its growing creative identity.
For Mia by Tanishq, the gesture represents its association with Nagaland and its commitment to collaborations that celebrate individuality, creativity and cultural expression. For TaFMA, the partnership demonstrates how collaborations between the creative sector and leading brands can provide meaningful platforms for showcasing Nagaland’s culture and talent.
The presentation of the brooch therefore represents more than a jewellery piece, bringing together cultural heritage, creativity, craftsmanship and partnership, TaFMA stated.
