Thematic pavilions opened at ‘Maati Ke Rang’ festival

Thematic pavilions (Aangans) at the ‘Maati Ke Rang’ festival were inaugurated January 13 by Dr. Sajith, Director of the Government of India’s South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC). The artisans for the Festival started streaming in from all over India, brought together by the seven Zonal Cultural Centres in India. They would put up stalls with various art works that are on sale from January 13-17 at the NEZCC complex in Dimapur.
“The success of last year’s festival made the Government of India decide to continue the Maati Ke Rang festival-I congratulate the NEZCC for excellent arrangements made for the festival in Dimapur,” said Dr. Sajith.
The ensuing inauguration, through ribbon cutting under the India Gate mini replica at the NEZCC ground, saw a short walk by officers of the NEZCC accompanying the officials of the SZCC. “You get a taste of India through this short walk through the stalls,” said NEZCC Director, Lipokmar Tzüdir.
Meanwhile, as part of the ongoing ‘Maati Ke Rang festival’, which got underway January 13, a mini marathon race was organized in Dimapur, organized by Anytime Fitness, Dimapur in collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur.
According to a DIPR report, deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur Wetsope Kenye graced the occasion as chief guest and flagged off the mini marathon at ADC court junction at 6 a.m.
More than hundred participants took part in the marathon, which began from ADC Court junction and culminated at Airport road 3 1/2 mile, NEZCC.
The race was held under three categories for male participantsThe mini marathon was organized as part of the Swachh Bharat Campaign of the Government of India for a healthy and cleaner Dimapur.
