Nito Theological College under the aegis of SBAK-NM, Master of Divinity (M.Div) block was inaugurated and dedicated by the donor, Hoshito Achumi retd. transport commissioner with executive secretary SBAK-NM, Rev Hukugha Zhimo respectively, here in NTC Hall, Nito Mount Zunheboto Tuesday.
Exhorting the gathering as the donor and special guest Achumi, stressed on “discipleship”, while highlighting that, “mushrooming of M. Div colleges in Dimapur alone which has crossed 100+ (more than hundred) figures but yet the Naga society is infested with corruption and evil elements unlike true and devoted Christians, rued Achumi.
He further dwelt on the, “servant hood and leadership” prospects, which he said, “should go parallel hand in hand to win souls and also the smooth conduct of the institutional administration and spiritual growth”.
Rev Hukugha Zhimo while administering the dedication ceremony, extended greetings and gratitude to the donor family and all the concerned individual (s)/groups (s) for the collective efforts in the construction of the 2 (two) M. Div blocks.
On a lighter note Rev Hukugha cited, “we have a handful of ordained priests and all those ordained priests should be given equal status like inauguration or dedication programs”.
He said that, “the churches are now demanding qualified and special/professionals but soon after appointments, many fall prey to evil vices ruining their own spiritual growth and careers; church leaders are supposed to serve at least five (5) years but some could hardly manage 5-7 months of services to their respective churches”.
“Much focus and attentions should be towards the children ministry”, pointed out Rev Hukugha, who concluded with a note saying, “we should be agents of ministry orientated and not job oriented”.
Chairperson, NTC governing board Zunheboto Vihuto Asumi, who is also the Sumi Hoho general secretary, speaking on behalf of the college fraternity expressed gratitude to H. Achumi and his family for their noble deeds in the construction of new Master of Divinity (M.Div) building consisting of two blocks within a short period of time.
“Introducing M.Div studies at Nito Theological College, Zunheboto was a long cherished dream”, glorified Vihuto.
“Imparting quality education and preparing faithful God servants should be the mission of this college” challenged Vihuto while exhorting the students to be focused and disciplined.
“Church should be an agent of social transformation as well and therefore NTC should train church leaders who are prepared to bring better change in all walks of life” concluded Vihuto.
Earlier the program was led by NTC academic dean Niholi H Shohe and the dedication program began with NTC lecturer Betterson. The gathering was enthralled by beautiful songs from the NTC first batch M. Div students.
