
The Theta Tutorials, a premier tutorial institution located below Red Cross building Kohima organized a grand felicitation programme for the 13 selected MBBS students of NSEE 2016 with associate professor (physics) Kohima Science College Dr. M. Devrani as the special guest on Wednesday afternoon.
Dr. Devrani in his address while congratulating the selected MBBS students also advised them to remain focused and maintain the level of sincerity, hard work and strong determination even after joining the medical college.
He told the students that being selected for the course was not the end of their professional course but rather the beginning of tougher competitions ahead in life. He challenged the students by saying that nobody could stop them if they had strong determination for excellence.
He advised the students to have “ASK” in their minds which meant that one should ask more questions and clarify their doubts in college from the concern lecturers.
He also advised them to use the abbreviations of ASK as A- for right Attitude, S –to develop Skill and K- to acquire complete Knowledge.
He told the students that their professions (doctor) needed them to be smart, continuously updating the latest and thorough knowledge. He encouraged the future doctors to serve the needy people and not only for wealth and fame.
L. Kenneth Punyü who led the programme and also one of the proprietors said the inspiration was drawn from the success of the students.
He said the Theta Tutorial Institution has been giving coaching for medical, engineering and other entrance exams and from 2007-2016 altogether 153 students had been selected for MBBS, engineering 438 and other allied courses of 287, including this year 13 students in MBBS, 52 in engineering and 26 students in other allied courses.
Nchumthung E Humtsoe 1st rank in MBBS 2016 (NSEE) and other three selected students also addressed the gathering. Representatives from teachers and parents also spoke on the occasion. All the 13 selected MBBS students were acknowledged and presented with gifts by the institution while special prayer was proposed by Vevohü Kezo for the selected students.
