Thilixü Village Baptist Church 50 years celebration from today

A two-day golden jubilee celebration of Thilixü Village Baptist Church (TVBC) under the theme, “Tokulu Sheshuni” (Leshele 145:4-6) will commence Saturday evening at TVBC premises
Announcing the golden jubilee celebration in a press conference at TVBC on Friday, the golden jubilee organising committee said the golden jubilee celebration would be dedicated and declared open by TVBC Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Hevukhu while Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema would be the jubilee speaker. The WSBAK executive secretary will also unveil the jubilee monolith on February 18.
The committee informed that Thilixü Village formed in 1974 by three families now has 1400 families as its residents with more than 5000 Baptised members.
During the two-day celebration, the committee said greetings would be delivered by minister, PHE and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, advisor, land resources, G Ikuto Zhimomi, Er. Picto, MLA, and Khehovi Yeptho, ex-MLA, who are residents of Thilixü Village. The congregation would also witness melodious music from the jubilee choir, Chekiye Village Baptist Church and TVBC ex-music director, Holyn Kiba.
They said the jubilee celebration inaugural programme would begin on February 17, 9 a.m. followed by cultural service at 3:30 p.m. at TVBC. The jubilee monolith would be unveiled on February 18, 9 a.m. followed by a devotional service, and the closing ceremony in the evening.
The committee also informed that 178 Pastors and GBs from Sümi community have been invited and were expected to attend the two-day jubilee celebrations.
