Tikvah Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. (THPL), in collaboration with the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, has achieved a significant milestone in public healthcare through the establishment of a 24/7 Radio Diagnostic Centre at District Hospital Dimapur (DHD). The initiative, launched under a pioneering Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model, has emerged as a transformative force in diagnostic services across the state.
Since its inception in September 2024, the Centre has served over 35,000 patients, offering affordable and accessible diagnostic care round-the-clock. Equipped with advanced infrastructure including a GE 32 Slice CT Scanner and high-end Samsung ultrasound machines, the facility provides CT Scan, Ultrasound, and X-Ray services with in-house radiologists and sonologists available at all hours. Monthly free Fibroscan screenings and regular community health camps have further extended its reach to underserved populations.
The PPP model at DHD is the first of its kind in Nagaland, ensuring uninterrupted diagnostic services at subsidised rates. THPL estimates that patients have collectively saved Rs. 35 lakh compared to prevailing private diagnostic costs. The initiative has also generated employment opportunities for medical professionals and support staff, while contributing to capacity building among local healthcare workers.
THPL is preparing to upgrade the facility with an MRI and high-definition digital X-ray system. Plans are also underway to introduce DNB courses in Radiology, positioning DHD as a centre for academic excellence and advanced medical training.
The long-term vision includes developing DHD into a hub-and-spoke model for tele-radiology services, connecting Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and other healthcare units across Nagaland. This integrated network aims to strengthen referral linkages and expand access to quality diagnostic care statewide.
