Perturbed by the “tussle” between NSCN (I-M) and Sumi apex organizations and the recent decision of NSCN (I-M) banning the Sumi Hoho and Western Sumi Hoho (WSH), the Naga Hoho has appealed both the competent parties to sit across the table and thrash out all differences in the spirit of mutual respect and reciprocation without further delay.
Naga Hoho president Keviletuo Kiewhuo and general secretary P Chuba Ozukum in a press release also said the Hoho was willing to facilitate with all constructive ways and means, towards bringing amicable solution between the NSCN (I-M) and the Sumis.
Expressing concern over the banning of the two Sumi organizations by NSCN (I-M) authority due to certain apprehensions between the two parties, Naga Hoho said it was the bounden duty of the Hoho to protect and safeguard the welfare of every constituent unit of the Naga Hoho.
The Naga Hoho felt that the decision of the NSCN (I-M) might have erupted after going through many odds, especially the aftermath of the formation of “Unification group” under the leadership of breakaway group of NSCN (I-M) which, the Hoho said, was very unfortunate for NSCN (I-M).
“Apart from other bone of contentions against the two Sumi organizations as maintained by NSCN (I-M), the Naga Hoho have been trying to understand the reason behind the solemn declaration and the stand of the Sumi Hoho- ‘unification first then solution’ which we feel is a direct challenge to the ongoing political dialogue in the highest level,” Naga Hoho said.
The Hoho however maintained that whatever the motive might be, banning of organizations or imposition of one’s will upon others would further aggravate the human relationship, and added “we foresee that the Naga Hoho may be at the receiving end so long the tussle continues between NSCN (I-M) and the Sumi apex organizations.”
The Hoho reminded that every individual or organization have different aspirations and objectives due to which all the organizations and associations have come in to being, based on the demands and necessity of that given situation.
“This has been the practice ever since the creation of human civilization during the time of ‘Greek city states’”, it added.
