Three from Nagaland attend ILEP in USA

International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) training, currently in progress in US with 65 participants from 14 countries around the world attending, of which 6 are from India. 
There are three participants from Nagaland, Tonika Yepthomi from Government High School Diphupar, Christina Neikhrienuo from Little Star School Dimapur and Rev. Fr. Francis Yimso from St. Christopher School Chessore.  The training programme aims to advance expertise in subject areas, enhance teaching skills and to increase knowledge about the United States. 
It is a semester-long academic program at U.S university including course work in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, teaching strategies for the home classroom environment, teacher leadership and instructional technology, attached with a field experience at a US secondary school.  
The teachers are selected through a competitive process of examination and interviews. Since the inception of the program in 2007, 606 teachers from 22 countries have completed this training and exchange program. It is coordinated by IREX, an International organization providing thought leadership and innovative programme to promote positive lasting change globally under the patronage of US Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).
