Three Koel birds released at Kanglatu Biodiversity Reserve

Nagaland Forest Department has released three Koel birds at the Kanglatu Biodiversity Reserve in Changtongya, under Mokokchung. 
A release by the department said that the birds were “presented” by deputy central intelligence officer L Thomson, SIB Mokokchung. It said earlier in December, the same officer also donated a “flying squirrel” which was released in the same reserve.
The Kanglatu Biodiversity Reserve area is 700 hectares and approximately 7 kms away from Changtongya village. The whole area is rich in flora and fauna and an ideal place for biodiversity conservation and the area is being kept reserved by the villagers since 2008, stated the department.
