Three youths brutally killed in Dimapur

In a shocking incident, three persons were brutally hacked to death Monday at a housing complex in Dimapur’s Blue Hill area, Golaghat Road.
Talking to media persons, Commissioner of Police (CP), Limasunep Jamir said that the incident took place at around 2.30- 3 a.m. on June 4. 
He said the victims identified as Tateutui Newme son of Agie of Peren district, Tia Sangtam son of Tangshenjü of Kiphire and and Hori Teron of Karbi Anglong, Assam were brutally attacked with machete (dao) and iron rods while in their sleep.
The victims including the suspected assailants were working as waiters at a hotel located at Eros Lane, Jamir said adding, that the motive of the murder is suspected to be revengeful act following a quarrel over a missing mobile phone.
Soon after committing the murder, CP said that the assailants escaped through the bathroom window from the 6th floor by tying bed-sheets.
A criminal case has been registered at East Police station and a Special Investigation Team headed by Addl. DCP (Crime) has been tasked investigate the case. CP said that the identities of the assailants have been ascertained and efforts were on to nab them at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Limasunep Jamir has appealed to the citizens to remain calm and not to panic, saying it was a “crime” that can be attributed to personal differences and enmity.
He assured that the perpetrators will be brought to book and no stones shall be left unturned to meet the ends of justice.
After conducting the post-mortem at Civil hospital, the bodies were later handed over to the respective family members, CP said.  
Talking to Nagaland Post, ADCP (Crime) informed that all the three deceased including the two suspect were residing in the same complex above S3 shopping mall along with other employees of the hotel. None of their colleagues heard any noise or commotion. 
The incident came to light only in the morning after the residents broke open the doors and found them lying in the pool of blood.
ADCP said police have obtained the CCTV footage and that it was only a matter of time before the suspects were apprehended.
Organizations condemn
Several organizations including NPF have vehemently condemned cold blooded murder of three youths in Dimapur.
NPF: Condemning the brutal killing, NPF Monday blamed the PDA government for the lawlessness in state.
NPF alleged that soon after PDA took over the government, the state was witnessing an increase in random killings, extortion on business community and rape cases.
NPF central through its press bureau questioned the PDA government “whether they considered these unrest in the state as a trend to be ignored or is it the responsibility of the present govt to provide security and protection to its citizens?”
Stating that Nagas were living in perilous times when they were not safe in their own homes, NPF urged the PDA government to be serious about their slogan “Change is coming”.
NPF said that the government should also leave no stone unturned to provide security and protection to the people of Nagaland.
Further, it reminded the PDA government to contain the law and order situations in the state before a complete breakdown occurred. NPF also appealed to the law enforcing agencies to bring the culprits to book and deliver justice to the victims at earliest possible time.
Meanwhile, NPF has also condemned the recent factional killings that took place in Arunachal Pradesh and called for total ceasing of gun culture among the Naga factions. It also appealed to all Naga Political Groups (NPGs) to maintain peace and tranquillity among them.
ZPON: Zeliang People’s Organisation, Nagaland (ZPON) has condemned the cold blooded murder of the three youths and put the blame solely on the proprietor, who it claimed instead of scrutinizing the identities of employees, blindly employed them and failed to provide the identities of the two absconders.
In a press release, ZNPON president, Kezin, and secretary, Kerang Dumtta, urged the responsible authority to carry out thorough probe. ZPON maintained that there was a possibility of “deep rooted conspiracy” behind the murder. It also appealed to the authority to book the proprietor under relevant section for employing children. ZPON said two of deceased Nagas were below 18 years of age.
Further, ZPON appealed to the law enforcing agency to carry out probe in right earnest and booked the perpetrators involved at the earliest “to avoid further escalation of problems on communal and tribal lines.”
ENPUD: Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union Dimapur (ENPUD) also condemned the gruesome murder and appealed the law enforcing agency to arrest the absconding perpetrators and award them befitting punishment as per the law of the land.
In a press release, ENPUD president, MC Ongbou Chang, and general secretary, M Jeange Yanlem, also appealed all responsible to condemn the barbaric act.
Meanwhile, ENPUD conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed that God Almighty provide them peace and strength at this hour of mourning.
