Thurutsuswumi village two-day 26th cultural day got underway on Friday with North East NGO Federation (NENGOF) president Dr. Er. Vekho Swuro as the chief guest.
In his speech, Swuro urged the gathering to continue to preserve and promote culture and traditions saying that showcasing the aged-old traditions is part of preserving the social values. He said observing cultural days should continue even in the near future so that right message was passed onto upcoming youngsters.
The two day program would feature several indigenous cultural activities on competition basis. The event is being organized under the aegis of the Thurutsuswumi Cultural Association (TCA). Earlier, Cekrolhu Sapu chaired the programme, pastor Cekhwuneyi invoked God’s blessing, welcome song was presented by Veluzolu and friends, welcome note was delivered by VCC, Thuyesazho and Sanetso Shijoh proposed vote of thanks.
