They claimed that the incident took place at DUDA office, where the department invited two former officials and two from interim body for a joint meeting. However, the two former officials did not attend the meeting but sent their representatives who were “unofficial and unauthorised”. In order to maintain “the decorum of the meeting with government officials, Khiungmong was asked to leave the meeting hall, but on his refusal, he was pulled out”, the release stated .
“Apart from pulling out, no other physical assault took place as asserted in the local news”, the release said.
The interim body said that FIR was also lodged at North Police Station, Kohima, where both parties pronounced to forgive and forget after compromising.
Therefore, the interim body clarified the readers to not confuse with the statement in the name of TTC which was a “self-styled propaganda with a motive to tarnish the integrity of Mark Muraikiu”.
It claimed that the official TTC has been functioning with the Interim body with the mandate of Tikhir General Public since October 28, 2023.
