
Minister for School Education and SCERT Yitachu lamented that a time would come when the brightest of the students could not be employed and added that time has come to change employment system in the State.
Addressing the students at Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) felicitation programme for HSLC Naga toppers at Zonal council hall Kohima, Yitachu admitted that State was facing employment problem and that the State exchequer has been drained due to government employees’ salaries.
Pointing out that no government in the world including the richest country cannot employ all its citizens into the government sector, Yitachu said that if the present trend of seeking only government job continues then one day the brightest students would not have place to work.
As inhabitants of wonderful landscape with rich deposit of natural resources, Yitachu said time has come for “us” to concentrate seriously on how to improve the State economy and address employment issue.
To the topper students, Yitachu encouraged them to work harder and persuade their ambitions while cautioning them that they will also face more challenges as they have just begun their lives.
NSF president Subenthung in his felicitation address said it was proud moment for the NSF to felicitate the Naga HSLC toppers.
He urged upon the students to keep the momentum ahead to achieve even greater height in future and reminded the students that they are the architect of themselves.
The programme was led by assistant general secretary NSF Christopher, invocation prayer was said by CBCK assistant Pastor Dr. Vetso Koza, welcome note was delivered by general secretary NSF Boveio Poukai Duo, introduction hour by secretary information publicity NSF Menang Longchar.
Speech on behalf of the toppers was delivered by Chentisangla Longkumer (HSLC top 2), the felicitation to the toppers was led by secretary education NSF Imtiyapang while vote of thanks was proposed by Shikavi Achumi vice president NSF.
Altogether 29 Naga toppers out of 52 toppers of HSCL exam 2015 were felicitated by the NSF in the presence of parliamentary secretary Art and culture Eshak Konyak, Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA), ANCSU, ASU, NSF senior officials, toppers’ parents, director school education, chairman NBSE and
others.
