TKK organises seminar on ‘language our identity’

One day seminar on the theme, “Die U kelhoubo-u(language our identity)” was organised by Tenyidie Kephrünuoko Krotho (TKK) on Saturday at AMK Building, Kohima.

A press release by TKK stated that speaker of the formal session, Vilhoukhoü Solo of Ura Academy while speaking on the theme shared her experiences and asserted the importance of one’s mother tongue.

In the second session, president of Ura Academy and advisor, TKK Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu said there are more than 7000 languages that are been spoken while many are near extinction or endangered. He highlighted some initiatives of the Ura Academy in Tenyidie promotion and challenged the young generation to take up the same.

Session speakers Vipralhou Kesieziespoke on “National Education Policy 2020 basing on mother tongue”, Thinuokhrieü Tseikha on “Our ethical culture”, MetuoLiezietsu on “The role of public in enriching the language” and Vizonyü Liezietsu on “Tenyidie Usage”.

The first session was chaired by TKK president Meteitoulie Talie, invocation was said by evangelist Koinonia Baptist Church, Ruokuotuo Kuotsu and special song by Neilaü Thaprü. 

During the session break, Thepfuneituo Talie enthralled the audience with a song while short speeches were delivered by Those Kraho, Dr. Khrüvolü Keyho and Dr. Metseilhouthie Mor.

The second session was chaired by TKK vice president Keneizenuo Solo, greetings by Kohima Science College assistant professor Sepole Hesuh, special song by Ato Nienu, TKK advisor Kikruneinuo Liezietsu delivered vote of thanks and benediction was pronounced by Rev. Mhalevilie Yongo.
