TKM appeal to GREF

Tzürangkong Kaketshir Mungdang, (TKM– students’ body) has expressed serious concern over the pathetic road condition of Mariani-Mokokchung road, which serves as the economic lifeline of not only Mokokchung district but other districts like Zunheboto and Tuensang. In a letter to the officer commanding of 1000 RCC GREF, TKM president L. Alem Jamir and general secretary Sunep Yaden pointed out that the road from Tsudapela check gate to Mokokchung town (Mariani road) connecting Assam have been left neglected for years. With the monsoon season approaching, TKM said that the road repair work would not be possible and only further deteriorate the condition. It reminded GREF that besides trucks ferrying essential commodities from Jorhat, thousands of commuters use the same road every day.In this regard, TKM has appealed to GREF to impress upon the BRO to repair the road at the earliest in the interest of the public.
