Tobacco banned at Heritage Village

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has notified that there would be a strict ban on the sale of tobacco products during the upcoming Hornbill Festival at Heritage Village Kisama.

In an order, deputy commissioner (DC) Kohima, who is also the chairman of District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) on tobacco control, stated that there should be effective implementation of Section 4 of Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COPTA 2003) i.e. prohibition of smoking in public places. 

The DC further cautioned that any person violating the order would be liable to be punished as per the law.
