Tohanba wants to make Dimapur an ideal city

Parliamentary secretary for Municipal Affairs and Economics & Statistics R. Tohanba lauded developmental works being undertaken by Dimapur Muncipal Council and opined that they would turn Dimapur into an ideal city.
Speaking a brief function at DMC office, Tohanba praised Dimapur Municipal Council and said after full implementation of projects by the Municipal Affairs department would become better than any other municipal or town administration.  Various schemes would also be introduced that would be an added advantage for Dimapur, he said.
 During his maiden visit here Tuesday, Tohanba urged upon the civil societies to cooperate and support municipal department to bring more developments so as to make Dimapur at par with other cities. 
Secretary for municipal affairs, Dr Moangwati Aier (IAS) gave a brief about the policy and programmes of municipal affairs. He appealed the civil societies of Dimapur to support DMC administrator, Atokhe Ayemi in order to bring more developments for the uplift of Dimapur city. Maong also disclosed that solid waste management would soon be made available in Dimapur instead of disposal in dumping zone. By introducing the method, 40% of plastic material would be recycled and 10% solid waste would be disposed off, he said.
Earlier, Tohanba inaugurated the drainage at United Village Block-B (UNB) under Burma camp with a total length of 1200 ft ; another at Sunrise colony, Burma camp. The team visited the Dimapur municipal dumping zone at Sunrise colony.
During a brief programme at DMC office Dimapur, short speeches were delivered by president, Naga council Dimapur, MLA Tovihoto Ayemi, President Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI), President Dimapur Urban chairman council Federation (DUCCF), President Dimapur Citizens Forum(DCF), President Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) and President Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD). The programme was chaired by DMC administrator Atokhe Ayemi.
