Tokheho urges students to be self-reliant

Lok Sabha MP Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi exhorted the Eastern Sumi Students’ Union (ESSU) at its 39th Annual Conference inaugural session held at Khetoi village, Aghunato on January 4.

According to a press release by one Mulato Katty, in his message, the Lok Sabha MP urged students to look beyond government service as a means of employment.

He highlighted the ramifications to inducting excessive government employees on the economic health of the state. 

He also urged the students to become entrepreneurs and be independent of government dependency. Emphasizing on dignity of labour, he pointed out that vocational jobs were among the best solutions for a weak economy. 

He appealed to students to have a clear mindset about what they wanted to pursue after completing their education and not burden parents with finding employment for them. 

The ESSU conference is being held over a period of three days from January 4 to January 6.
