A two-day “Tokhu Emong special sale” organised by the “Lotha Entrepreneurs”, an online community dedicated to fostering budding entrepreneurship within the Lotha community, commenced Friday at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur.
The “Tokhu Emong special sale” founded by Zaben Murry, proprietor of ZM Design, and an entrepreneur, Irene Sungbeni, was held under the theme, “Building local prosperity”.
12 stalls featuring emerging artisans and entrepreneurs in the domains of food, jewellery making, and floristry have been set up.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Civil Aviation, Railways, and Waterways, Ababe Ezung, shared insights on entrepreneurship based on his extensive experience dating back to 1998. He emphasized on the challenges and the evolving landscape with more support and opportunities for today’s youth.
Ezung also highlighted the role of Naga entrepreneurs, particularly in the post-Covid era, and the shift towards online and home-based businesses through social media.
Meanwhile, the organisers noted the digital world’s role in bridging generational gaps and providing opportunities for entrepreneurs. They said the “special sale” was designed not only for marketing but to offer a platform to local Lotha entrepreneurs, providing them with exposure and support.
The “Tokhu Emong special sale” aims to cultivate a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and promote prosperity within the Lotha community and seeks to provide a nurturing environment for emerging entrepreneurs, recognising and celebrating their contributions to the community.
