Minister PWD, Tongpang Ozukum was conferred the prestigious Aadarsh Yuva Vidhayak Puraskar (Ideal Youth Legislator Award) by the Indian Student Parliament (Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad) during it 9th convention (9th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad) held on January 20, at MIT- World Peace University Campus, Pune.
According to PS to minister, vice chancellor, Prof. Dr. K.R. Venugopal, Bangalore University, Bengaluru, Karnataka and Tushar Gandhi handed over the trophy, a shawl and citation to Tongpang Ozukum and Ashish Butail, MLA Palampur, Kangara constituency, Himachal Pradesh respectively. The convention was graced by advocate Jignesh Mevani, MLA Vadgam (SC), Banaskantha, Gujarat as the chief guest.
The convention is an annual event where thousands of students from different universities and youth leaders from across the country and abroad participate and is supported by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Ministry of Higher & Technical Education and Ministry of Sports &Youth Welfare, Government of Maharashtra.
