State government has appointed Tongpang L Jamir as the state commissioner for persons with disabilities (PwDs) with effect from the date he takes charge of the office. A notification issued by state chief secretary Sentiyanger Imchen stated that Jamir would function as the head of the establishment of the state disability commission. The notification stated that the appointment is for a tenure of three years or till he attains the age of 65, whichever is earlier.
