Aoli Ozukum Mungdang (AOM) celebrated its golden jubilee-cum-general conference on December13-14 at NER agri expo, Dimapur on the theme “Tsungrutsutonga Atsungakang”. The jubilee was hosted by AOM, Dimapur.
In the first night of the conference, the programme was chaired by president Zulutemjen Ozukum and general secretary Meyizulu Ozukum.
During the main session on December 14, special guest minister PWD, housing & mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum released the jubilee souvenir.
In his speech, Tongpang thanked all the founding members of AOM for their tears and sweat and stressed on truth and purity of forefathers which he said was the true identity of the clan.
He concluded by exhorting the congregation with a note “come! let us join hands and stand together and follow the truth attire/footsteps of our clan forefathers”
Meanwhile, main speaker M. Akang Ozukum in his speech explained the origin of Ozukum clan from the Hornbill feather and gave significance of its purity and relation with clan identity.
He said that as a result of hard earning and good deeds by their forefathers today, they were taking “Taong Shinuk” privileges in their respective villages.
Akang concluded his massage by encouraging the Ozukum clan to have “peace, oneness and forgiveness” among the members of Ozukum clan for a better tomorrow.
Short speeches were also delivered by special invitees I. Nangshi Longchar and Sopu Jamir.
The celebration concluded with last session chaired by office bearers while vote of thanks was proposed by jubilee planning committee convenor, S. Wati Ozukum.
