Training of Trainers (ToT) exercise on Micro Credit Plan (MCP) for Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) field staffs is underway at SIRD, Kohima with resource persons from NIRD (NRLM Cell) Hyderabad.
Speaking at introductory session, mission director, NSRLM Motsuthung Lotha emphasized on the importance of the training in professional growth and better facilitation field implementation of the mission. He said effort of the mission was to bring change in the society and proper implementation at grassroots would ensure success of mission’s objective.
Mission manager, NRLM Cell, NIRD Hyderabad K. Venkateshwar Rao said poverty scenario in Nagaland was different from mainland states including cultural context. He also said MCP format would be customized according to the local context as the socio-economic status in Nagaland has its own uniqueness.
The training would have sessions covering a wide range of topics including NRLM-CBO structure and importance of SHG- Panchasutra, CIF Management and importance of MCP, village level financial/credit institutions and stages of MCP.
The resource persons will be taking the team through SGH, group work, interactive session and feld testing of MCP in villages. Appraisal and experience sharing will also be held at end of the sessions and field visits.
Under MCP each member of a Self Help Group (SHG) would come up with a Household Investment Plan (HIP) and the Micro Credit Investment Plan (MCIP) which was an aggregate of all household investment plans of SHG members.
