The second Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on “Operationalizing Multi-Sector Skill Education for Grade 9 & 10 students” was successfully conducted at St. Paul School, Phesama, Kohima, from September 9 to 12.
The initiative was organised by Lend A Hand India under the CSR pilot project of LIC Housing Finance Ltd (LIC-HFL), with support from Samagra Shiksha Nagaland.
The training aimed to align vocational education with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023. It featured hands-on modules in Fashion, Coding, and Healthcare, facilitated by expert trainers from Lend A Hand India. A concluding session focused on pedagogy, lesson planning, and assessment strategies to strengthen teaching practices. Altogether, 30 vocational trainers and subject teachers from 26 schools—21 government and 5 private—across five districts (Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung, Kiphire and Peren) participated in the programme.
Representatives from the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) attended all four days, contributing insights to support curriculum integration. Addressing the participants on the final day, NBSE Academic Officer Dziesevolie Tsurho emphasized the importance of equipping students with practical skills to tackle unemployment. The valedictory session was graced by Dr. Chumbeni Kikon, Joint Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland; NBSE Academic Officer Dziesevolie Tsurho; and Father Charles D’Souza, Headmaster of St. Paul School. Certificates were distributed to all participants.
