ToT on sustainable eco-friendly products

Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) block mission management unit Kuhuboto conducted Training of Trainers (ToT) on sustainable eco-friendly products manufacturing on October 25-26 at Old Showuba Village. 

A press release by NSRLM stated that block development officer cum block mission manager, BMMU Kuhuboto, Phoishe Sema said the main objective of the training was to help the Self Help Groups (SHGs) members to earn sustainable income.

Since Kuhuboto Block has been officially declared “Plastic Free Block” on October 2, Sema said there was a need for alternative to plastic bags and added that paper bags could be an alternative.

 He urged the trainees to learn the process thoroughly and disseminate the same to other SHGs members in their respective villages.

The training was attended by community cadres, VLO leaders and block staffs. 

Nagaland Packaging Solutions led by Myanthung Ngullie, taught the participants on making paper bags, envelopes, plates and bowls through banana leaves and fibre ropes through banana stem.

Director of Ilandlo, Imtisunep Longchar spoke about online marketing, importance of good packaging and labelling, importance of obtaining FSSAI code for their products.
