Kohima Village Youth Organisation president Ruokuoneituo Phewhuo told Nagaland Post that a public announcement had been made within its jurisdiction about lifting of the total lockdown.

Stating that it would stick to the State government’s SOP, he added that all agri and allied activities would be allowed to function, but requested citizens not to flout the SOP and remain at home, unless it was necessary to go out.

DC warns: Meanwhile, deputy commissioner (DC) Gregory Thejawelie, who is the chairman of Kohima DTF, has decreed that any additional restriction or imposition of total lockdown by any authority, other than Kohima DTF, was strictly unwarranted.

He said, if under any extraordinary circumstance/ situation such additional restriction was necessitated, the same could be conveyed to DTF for necessary approval. He warned that any group acting in violation of this order would be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 188 of Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
