Totok villages receive water supply

Water problems faced by three villages of Totok has eased due to the provision of water source from Mohung village, where the water reservoir and pipe line connection to Totok Chungnyu village was inaugurated by advisor DUDA and LMCP and chairman DPDB N. Thongwang Konyak  on September 18.
In his inaugural speech N. Thongwang expressed his gratitude to the Mohung village for providing water source to the three villages of Totok, which had been facing water problems for many years. He also asserted that development was not possible in any disputed area and called upon the elders of Mohung and the three Totok villages, to cooperate and support each other for maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.
Thongwang also urged upon the people to take the responsibility of the ownership of the pipeline and the water reservoir and emphasized on proper maintenance and care. He also assured to provide spare pipes and other equipments to ensure that water connectivity in these three villages was not interrupted. He also urged the people to have close relationship with the department and support the government.
Executive engineer PHED, Mon Er. Liang presented a technical report of the pipe connection project.  He appreciated the World Vision India for completing the unfinished task left by the department. He informed that the quantity of water supply is above standard and is more than sufficient.  He also advised the people to change the attitude and mindset of the people to march ahead with others.
CDC Mon ADP, World Vision India Nokyam Wangnao, in his speech informed that World Vision is a Christian Humanitarian Organization (NGO) functioning and depending on the contributions from other individuals and organizations.  He informed that funds are judiciously executed to reach the targeted groups in the grass root level.
He also pointed out that the reason behind the project is to have sanitation and hygienic living in the village and to lessen the duty of the mothers to cater quality time with their children. He also urged the people to judiciously utilize the opportunity provided for quality and healthy living.
The PTIC Mon ADP, World Vision David, head GB of Mohung village, landowner and Watsan Committee of Totok Chingnyu village also spoke at the program.  Earlier, the Chief Angh of Totok Chingnyu Y. Tongem delivered the welcome address while vote of thanks was delivered by P. Angtong chairman Totok Chingnyu village council. The dedication prayer was proposed by pastor Totok Chingnyu Baptist Church Rev. Henshak and the program concluded with benediction by pastor Totok Chingha Baptist Church Nyeiwang.
It may be noted here that the World Vision India has constructed 2 numbers of tank for two colonies and one big main water reservoir besides providing GI pipes for distribution lines completing 17 public points were connected.
