Tovihoto inaugurates NCC welcome gate

Advisor, department of Power, Tovihoto Ayemi inaugurated the Namgalong Colony Council (NCC) welcome gate and graced the programme on recognition of Namgalong Colony, here, on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the welcome gate, Tovihoto stated that the inaugural of welcome gate for the colony was a significant day for the colony residents and added that the gate was like an identity for its residence.
He urged upon the gathering and NCC to continue residing in peace and harmony and also to stay united.
Speaking on the recognition of the colony, the advisor said that it was a red-letter day for the colony members for the hard work and efforts rendered by all.
“The recognition of Namgalong colony is the fruit of hard work and dedication rendered by every member of the colony”, Tovihoto stated.
While disclosing that recognition of the village could have been done earlier, the advisor said that extra dedication of the council members should be acknowledged by all.
While pointing out that Dimapur was a place which did not belong to a particular tribe and was a place that cherished different ethnicities, he dubbed Dimapur as “mini India”.
He also encouraged colony members to continue to reside in unity and strength.
Further, he urged upon the council members to coordinate with the state government for all schemes and benefits and suggested that surrounding village councils could come together for welfare of the colonies.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Silme Kamei and invocation said by pastor, Tenyenlo Chung.
NCC vice chairman, Ruokuobelie delivered the welcome address while NCC chairman Daniel Swu delivered chairman’s address.
Later, vote of thanks was proposed by NCC joint secretary, Adina Liegise and benediction was said by joint finance, Gopal Gonmei
Highlights of the programme included Rongmei cultural dance, special number by Kalika Swu, Bhojpuri dance by Rupa Mishra. It may be mentioned that there are around 15 tribes residing at Namgalong colony.
