Goodwill Mission Team (GMT) from Teniyimi Peoples’ Organization (TPO) and Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) visited Kiyevi village and Lamhai Namdi village on December 22, 2022.
In a joint statement, TPO president Timikha Koza and CNTC president T Lanu Imchen said that the joint team impressed upon the two villages to maintain peaceful coexistence in view of the upcoming Christmas 2022 celebration and the New Year 2023. They said it was also agreed upon by both the villages that the land dispute would be amicably settled by the two villages “based on the history, Naga customary law and its practices.”
According to the signatories, the GMT has assured that TPO and CNTC would assist the state government and the two villages to find a permanent solution at the earliest in the interest of all. The meeting was attended by Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) officials and Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation (NZPO) officials.
