A Scorpio, bearing registration No. NL 02C 6177, veered off the road and plunged some 30 meters below the road, between Chuchuyimlang and Unger villages, Wednesday. The accident claimed the life of one, leaving 2 seriously injured, while 4 others were treated for minor injuries at the Imkongliba Memorial Hospital, Mokokchung.
According to sources, the ill-fated vehicle belonged to Sungkomen Baptist Church, Mokokchung, pastor Rev. O Yashi. The deceased was his wife, late Sademkala (age 60), who succumbed to her injuries on the way to the PHC Chuchuyimlang.
Till the filing of this story, according to family members, though seriously injured (head), Rev. O Yashi was responsive but that his son has been shifted out of town for further treatment. The ill-fated accident occurred while they were en route to Changtongya to attend a wedding on December 3.
