Tragopan Club Viswema visited the Blyths Tragopan Conservation & Breeding Centre (BTCBC) on Tuesday. Altogether eleven members gifted the centre with fresh fruits, vegetables and mealworms for the stock of pheasants.
A press note by officer-in-charge Blyths Tragopan Conservation & Breeding Centre, Kohima forest ranger , Keneikrul stated that the club had shown in action their concern and support for the pride of the state as their club name itself suggests.
It stated that the club had last year donated three tragopan-two males and one female to the BTCBC and it may be mentioned that the female was one of the two able to produce a progeny this breeding season. President of the club Vithel Pusa expressed his delight at the centre for preserving the stocks, nurturing them and letting them breed successfully. The officer in charge, also the ex-president of the Tragopan Club Viswema thanked and received the gifts on behalf of the centre.
