Department of sericulture, Mokokchung held a training-cum-demonstration for the stakeholders of Mokokchung district on muga culture under Integrated Sericulture Development Project (ISDP) NERTPS 2015-16 from January 19-21 at the District Sericulture office Mokokchung.
The programme was inaugurated and addressed by district sericulture officer Mokokchung Alemkumzuk who gave a brief account on the project and technical issues of muga culture and its economy.
He stated that regarding development of plantation as per operational guideline given by Central Ministry, the stakeholders should avail the benefit from their job card under MGNREGA programme.
The technical session was conducted by extention officer Aojungshi and sericulture supervisor Immonger on package of practices and hygiene management on silkworm host plant cultivation and silkworm rearing.
Altogether 50 farmers participated in the programme.
