A three-day training cum workshop on tea packaging organised by the Entrepreneurship Task Force (ETF), Cell Wokha in collaboration with the Tea Board Regional Office (TBRO) Golaghat, and the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Kolkata Centre culminated Wednesday at Likya Community Hall, Wokha.
During the conclusion session, project manager of Shishoi Oshom ETF Cell Wokha, Anuranjan Singh thanked TBRO Golaghat and IIP Kolkata Centre for conducting the training and workshop and acknowledged their invaluable contribution.
The training cum workshop was attended by local youths, including members of the Wokha District Small Tea Growers Association (WDSTGA).
During the three-day sessions, trainees were immersed in a series of interactive sessions, hands-on practical training sessions on tea packaging techniques utilizing diverse materials and embracing scientifically-proven methods.
The programme also facilitated exchanges between industry experts and participants, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to innovation and growth within the local tea sector.
A highlight of the event was the insightful visit by representatives from the Tea Board and IIP to tea gardens in Nungying and Longla village, where they gained first hand exposure to traditional tea practices demonstrated by the WDSTGA.
