Training, farm school for farmers in Longleng, Akuluto, Wokha

One-day training for practicing farmers was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Longleng, ICAR Jharnapani on July 28 at KVK office premises.
During the programme, SMS (soil & water conservation Engg) Dr. P. Chowdhury presented lecture on “low cost micro irrigation in hill agriculture”.
He described different methods of low cost micro irrigation systems and their advantages for vegetable cultivation during lean period.
Programme assistant (home science) Thungchano S. Ezung delivered lecture on “beverage processing for their commercial use” while SMS (plant breeding) Dr. Patu Khate Zeliang gave lecture on “commercial importance of pulses cultivation in Longleng”.
Altogether 20 farm women from Dunkhao and Orangkong village attended the training programme.
AKULUTO: Training-cum-demonstration on concept and methodology of NFSM (rice) was conducted on July 14 at Akuluto town. Altogether 24 farmers attended the programme.
Another training-cum-demonstration on coarse cereal and pulses (NFSM) was also conducted at Phishumi village on July 21 with SDAO, Akuluto  Imliakum. HYV Seeds were also distributed to the trainees.
WOKHA: ATMA, Wokha block inaugurated Soyabean Farm School at Ekoktchu village on July 25 with AFA and BTT convener M. Zuthunglo Erui as resource person.
During inaugural programme, Erui deliberated on package and practices on soyabeans cultivation while ATMA project director Dr. Mhonchan Shitiri spoke on concept, role and responsibilities of farm school. Farm implements and leaflets on soyabean cultivation, written in local dialect were distributed to all the participants. 
The programme was chaired by Benthunglo Murry. Altogether 18 farmers were enrolled with Ajamo Ezung as achiever farmer.
