Training for 7­­th economic census held

District Level Training of Trainers (DLTOT) for 7thEconomic Census 2019 were held in Dimapur, Mon, Kiphire and Zunheboto on May 31 and June 1 in the respective district headquarters. 

Dimapur: In connection with the forthcoming 7th Economic Census, a meeting was held at the DC conference hall, Dimapur on May 31. The 1st phase  of the census would commence from June 6. 

According to DIPR report, DC Dimapur chaired the meeting and gave a brief note on the 7th economic census to be conducted in the district. District manager of CSC e-governance Services India Limited gave an overview of the 7th Economic Census with a powerpoint presentation.

Several issues with regard to the 7th Economic Census was deliberated in the meeting where manpower (supervisors and enumerators) were the main concern for conducting the survey. An action plan was drawn where the officers present in the meeting agreed to provide manpower support as required for smooth conduct of survey in the sub-districts/ blocks under Dimapur other than Dimapur sardar and Chumukedima. The meeting attended by GM DIC, assistant labour commissioner, all administrative officers under Dimapur district, DPRO and district Economic and Statistical officer Dimapur.

Mon: In Mon, the programme was held at DC conference hall on June 1, wherein DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, stated that the economic census was the complete count of all establishments/units located within the geographical boundaries of the country and mentioned that the data so collected will be a crucial input for policy making at all levels.

According to DIPR report, DC requested those involved in the exercise not only to ensure that they cover all establishments but also obtain accurate data. Mugalo Kath, inspector of Statistics, Mon presented an overview of the economic census. Agenda, implementation and concept of economic census were covered by K.Nahjai, CSC district manager, Mon and Walk Thru-App was explained by M. Tonkai, CSC-SPV district manager, Mon.

Kiphire: The programme was held at DC conference hall, Kiphire on May 31, wherein  

Holikhum Jingru, (DESO) Kiphire stated that the main objective of the training was to equip the detailed information and to keep all the project stakeholders informed and involved. 

Participants were trained on key concepts and definitions, processes, digital platform and application to be used for enumeration (supervision & data capture) in field during 7th economic census. ADC, Wilfred Reny Kiphire appealed the CSC team and DESO officers to work with commitment for the benefits of Kiphire district.

Zunheboto: In Zunheboto, programme was held on May 31 at DC’s conference hall, where short speeches were delivered by Ajit Ranjan, ADC and DLCC convenor Zunheboto and N. Lhokiye Yeputho, DESO and member secretary DLCC Zunheboto.
