A four-day certification programme for Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) of Nagaland, in two simultaneous batches, commended on December 13 at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima.
A press release by office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nagaland infomred that the training was conducted in view of the forthcoming general election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023.
During the inaugural session, additional CEO, Ruokuovituo Khezhie highlighted on the important role played by the ROs and AROs in the conduct of election.
CEO office informed that the four days simultaneous training programme was conducted by Resource Persons/National Level Master Trainers (NLMTs) deputed by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The various sessions would include nomination including instructions on criminal antecedent, scrutiny of nomination, withdrawal of candidature and allotment of symbol, model code of conduct, qualification and disqualification, e-roll, district election management plan including COVID guidelines, service voter portal, EMS, ETPBS, NGRS, observer portal, IT Application including nomination, permission, poll day, counting, etc, postal ballot, counting, polling party and poll day arrangement, vulnerability mapping, expenditure monitoring, paid news and MCMC, EVM-VVPAT administrative procedure, EVM-VVPAT hands-on.
The programme was chaired by DCEO, Alila Chang and vote of thanks was delivered by Jt. CEO, Sharon Longchari.
CEO office informed that the second phase of the certification programme was being conducted for the districts – Kohima, Zunheboto, Mon, Tuensang, Longleng, Noklak, Shamator, Mokokchung and Wokha.
