Training of child welfare committees

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with Nagaland Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NSCPCR) launched the 7-day residential training of child welfare committees in Nagaland on June 19 at Kohima.
The training for the chairpersons and members of CWCs (Child Welfare Committee) from all districts of the state was facilitated by Seva Bharti Purbanchal (SBP).
Chairman National State Commission of Protection for Child Rights (SCPCR) Nagaland, Alun Hangshing recalled the recognition of the declaration of the Rights of the Child and adoped by the League of Nations in 1924 and adopted in an extended form by the United Nations in 1959.
He said India adopted the child’s right act in 1992 and in Nagaland the act was adopted in 2013.
Since then, Hangshing said that the state government has taken serious note of the act and was working to strengthen the child rights act in Nagaland.
Earlier, division head child labour and child in distress, National commission of protection of child rights (NCPCR) Payal Sharma delivered the opening remarks. Additional secretary social welfare department, Yongchingkumla delivered a special address and member SCPCR, Nagaland, Akumla Longchar delivered the welcome address.
