Training on agriculture marketing & linkages

DIMAPUR: State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a three day training programme for officers from the Department of Agriculture (DoA) and ATMA functionaries on the topic “Agriculture Marketing & Market Linkages” from August 31 to September 2.
According to a press release, delivering the keynote address, director SAMETI and principal IETC, Bodevi Shuya, emphasised the need for continuous assessment and strengthening of the existing agricultural marketing system in the State to better understand challenges and address gaps in market linkages between farmers and markets.
He urged participants to place greater emphasis on the needs and interests of farmers and ensure that relevant information, knowledge and opportunities were effectively disseminated, thereby enabling farmers to make informed decisions and improve market access.
Resource persons for the training included Prabin Das, Marketing Specialist, CIH Medziphema, and Nukuzo Phesao, founder of Nature Fuel India & Warehouse 103.
During the valedictory programme, participants shared feedback, while closing remarks were delivered by Bodevi Shuya. The training concluded with the distribution of certificates to all trainees.
