With an aim to reduce the prevalence of anemia, department of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Phek and Mokokchung districts organised training on “Anemia Mukt Bharat” .
In Phek, orientation training for block officials on “Anemia Mukt Bharat” was conducted on June 15 at Dr. Wethselo T. Mero Memorial Hall, District Hospital Phek.
A press release by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Phek office stated that the “Anemia Mukt Bharat” was launched with special focus on the health and nutrition needs of children, adolescents, women of reproductive age group, pregnant and lactating mothers.
During the training, DPO RCH/UIP Phek, Dr. Kolhitso Khalo presented the strategy to combat anemia and reduce prevalence of anemia in the district. He also highlighted the activities to be carried out by the frontline workers to intensify awareness and integrate screening and treatment.
SMO DH Phek, Dr. Ngopelo Keviechu spoke on the burdens of anemia, how to diagnose and manage a case of anemia. The training was attended by Block MO, BPMs and ASHA Cordinators. CMO office said the block officials would be further imparting training to ASHAS and school teachers.
Mokokchung: A Training of Trainers (ToT) for block level orientation on “Anemia Mukt Bharat” was held on June 9 at the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Mokokchung.
In a press release, CMO Mokokchung office informed that DPO (UIP & RCH), Dr. Ayangla Saku through a PowerPoint presentation highlighted the status of anaemia in Nagaland, the causes of high burden of anaemia and public health implications.
She oriented the trainees on the strategies to combat anaemia, advantages of IFA supplement, demand generation among pregnant mothers, recommended methods of testing and anaemia management protocol for adolescents and pregnant women.
The trainees included SMOs, MOs, BPMs, BACs, GNMs and CHO.
